HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
We are heading full steam ahead with our pre-civil war project! Check out my DP and our project page for a project overview and more information. Students will be working through 15 tasks at their own pace, and creating a book to display at local libraries and the VA in Santa Monica. Very exciting stuff!
We continued practicing mindfulness, had an important reminder conversation about technology use at school, and discussed our Halloween plans. At the end of the week, we were able to spend time with core 1 students to celebrate Halloween and read together in our costumes. It was probably one of my favorite moments so far this year! A huge thank you to families who brought in coins to share with Core 1 to donate to UNICEF! You don't know joy until you hand a 5 year old a bag full of coins ;) I will try to post photos soon.
Also, Thank you to everyone who so quickly donated supplies towards the completion of our ball pit project! This project would not be successful without you, and we appreciate you very much!!
FInally, have a very happy Halloween! Enjoy the weekend, be safe, and have fun :)

We took notes about the beginnings of civilization, worked on our project, and discussed Halloween plans. We were able to "reverse trick or treat" and deliver coin donations to Core 1 throughout the day to help them donate to UNICEF. YOu don't know joy until you see a 5 year old with an enormous jar of coins ;)
