Please continue to facilitate at-home research around Human Rights violations and Defenders. We want our kiddos to have depth AND breadth of knowledge on this topic. No need to turn anything in, just help them fill their brains with info :) It will also be helpful to research what Human Rights issues are prevalent in LA.

This week in Core 5:
We practiced mindfulness :) FYI, if students are late to school, it interrupts our mindfulness practice. Please try to make sure students are in class by 9:15 am.
We practiced our interview skills by facilitating mock interviews with me! Students had the opportunity to create questions on any topic, and interview me in front of other students. Some of the questions they asked were fascinating, and the follow up questions were impressive!
We began work on the rough draft of our interview letters that will be given to high school students that we will interview to test our ball pit questions. We went over the business letter rubric and an exemplar letter (given to kids hard copy and e-mailed to you).
We finished setting up our e-mail accounts and learning how to use Onedrive. (Please see previous e-mail if you haven't completed this already)
We continued work on our interview letter, received peer and teacher feedback, and began making revisions.
